Conclusions
As you can see from some of the examples that we have show that our method
to simulate watercolor works relatively well. Some things to work on in the future
is to add other effects, such as spattering and other drybrush techniques. We
would also like work on making our automatic watercolorization process a little more
automatic. We would also like to work on generalization. Our current model treats both backruns and wet-in-wet
flow patterns as two separate processes. In actuallity these are just two different
ends of the same effect. One last thing that we would like to work on is
the animation process. Currently when you use our method to render an animated scene
you get was is called the "shower door" effect. In the future we would like to find
some way of overcoming this effect to create more realistic renderings.
