Week 11
I. Family Trees
- This week, I added a family tree view for a selected network,
accessible from the main heredity window. I also added a Zoom
menu, and a Network menu that allows you to bring up the
Network Editor or Family Tree window for any selected network.
- Here is a screen shot illustrating my work:

- In this particular example, the family tree is not very helpful, since
the networks are almost identical, but in a harder problem where the
convergence is not so fast we might see more diversity.
- You will also notice in this visualization that some ancestry lines
appear to terminate prematurely. This is due to the fact that older
networks can breed with younger ones, and therefore the number of ancestors
in one heredity line is not necessarily equal to that of any other. For
clarity, however, I think in the future I will extend the links for
older parents so that each tier represents networks from the same
generation.
