Week 18
I. Preliminary Research
- The following link
will take you to a draft version of the "Preliminary Research" chapter
of my report.
II. New Developments
- Fixed bugs causing back-propagation code to crash.
- I have added a (compile-time) option to run back-propagation as a
separate thread, which makes the program somewhat more interactive.
Unfortunately, I have run into many thread-synchronization type problems
which cause crashes, so for now I am leaving this option off.
- I have added new button and static (text string) classes to my program
to customize the appearance of buttons and strings. The buttons are now
"IE4-sytle", in that they only appear as buttons when you move the mouse
over them.
Aside from looking
nice, this will allow me to optimize the layout of widgets in the window
and to save screen space. The screen shot below illustrates my progress;
as you can see I have not yet had time to adjust the layout to take
advantage of the smaller widgets. The mouse was hovering over the
"Network" button when I took this shot.
